Encontré un artículo muy interesante y se los quiero compartir.
A cualquiera nos puede pasar que se nos prende el check engine, y vamos corriendo a checar el Aceite, Fluidos, Fusibles y cables, y todo parece estar bien, entonces qué hacemos pues nos frustramos, porque no sabemos qué jodidos le pasa a nuestro carro, pues para saber que es lo que está fallando, o lo que esta enviando esa señal, aquí les tengo en exclusiva las claves de los errores que manda la compu
Primero que nada, si no tienen problemas, no les va a aparecer ninguna clave, pero de todos modos, no está de más checar.
Paso 1:
van a meter la llave, y van a apretar el botón del odometro(el botón que les dice el kilometraje, y el kilometraje de viaje) y van a poner la llave en apagado, y luego en encendido(no ARRANQUE) encendido es una antes de que el motor se encienda, es el punto de la llave donde pueden bajar los vidrios y la radio, y todo funciona con el motor apagado) entonces, va a ser encendido, apagado,encendido,apagado,encendido,apagado,encend ido,apagado,encendido,apagado, y por ultimo encendido(todo esto con el botón del odometro apretado) después del ultimo encendido, van a soltar el botón el odometro, y si les salio bien(a veces no sale a la primera) no se asusten, pero todas las agujas de su tablero se van a ir al máximo, así que si no tiene mucha gasolina, no piensen que milagrosamente se les lleno el tanque, esto dura muy poco, las agujas se van al máximo, y se bajan, ahora pongan atención en el display (la parte de los números del odómetro) se va a iluminar todo, después les pueden salir números, y después la pantalla se va a poner así: _ _ _ _ _ _ _ eso significa que no hay errores, después les va a dar un mensajito de DONE (Hecho) y esto quiere decir que el auto ya se acabo de auto diagnosticar aparte de las claves, se les pueden prender las luces de los tablero, por ejemplo la de la gas, si ya traen poquita, o la de la batería, si ya esta descargadona.

Yo creo que aplica para mas marcas, mi auto es un suzuki y me da el error p0420 catalizador, y aparece igual que en la lista de arriba...

La lista de los codigos es valida casi para la mayoria de vehiculos, mas no el procedimiento de extraer tal codigo, Solo que en un equipo de diagnostico aparece de la siguiente manera : P0xxx.
